VANDA / ASCOCENDAS
In the wild they grow on trees with their roots in the air. As they experience tropical downpours they absorb water into their thick fleshy roots, which will maintain them until the next downpour.
Indoors, if hanging they will require soaking (until the roots go green) every day.
Using the glass vase method simply fill the vase with water up to the bottom of the plant - leave for 20-30 minutes, then empty. By this time the roots will have absorbed plenty of water, and moisture will be retained in the vase. Repeat every 2-3 days or when the roots go white.
Feeding is easily achieved by adding food to the water when required.
These plants require good light levels.
TEMPERATURE:-
Winter minimum 15ºC (60ºF).
Summer 15ºC to 26ºC (60º/ 80ºF)
